The Liminal Path: An itinerary training course for facilitators and trainers

The liminal pathThis innovative 5 days training course was held for the first time in June 2014 in Switzerland. 18 participants gathered in Vallorbe in the Jura-mountains ready to embark on this intense learning journey. Living through transition periods means often wandering around, going into the unknown, heading into different direction … it is about moving. Three days of the course we were hiking, moving on with activities along the way. At the end of the hike there was an option to spend a night as a “solo time” in nature according the Wilderness Vision Quest tradition. The beginning as well as at the end of the course was residential in chalet type of accommodation.

The specific intentions were:

  1. Inspiring participants to explore their personal responses to transition and change.
  2. Inviting participants to experience nature as a source for personal development.
  3. Providing participants the opportunity and space to review their educational practice when it comes to accompanying others in transition periods.

Role of LIMINA: Peter and Paola were initiating the course and designed and implemented it together with 2 other colleagues.
